Generation Options
Triads vs sevenths, repeat, open voicing spreads, bass note, and lock.
These controls shape how Chordprinter generates and randomizes chords before you print.
Seventh
Seventh chooses whether generated chords are triads or seventh chords. If you assign an advanced chord to a slot, that advanced type overrides this setting for that chord.
Repeat
When Repeat is off, random chords only become types that are not already present in the progression. If there are more random slots than remaining possibilities, repeat is allowed again for the rest of the progression.
Open
Open transposes individual notes within chords up or down. Open 1 moves notes by one octave. Open 2 moves notes by two octaves. Use this to widen the sound without changing the harmonic types in each slot.
Bass note
Bass note adds the root of each chord either one or two octaves below the progression octave.
Lock
Lock fixes random chords to match the last printed progression. Print once, tweak until the vibe is right, then lock and refine voicing or advanced chords without losing the harmonic outline.
